 monday i'll be opening a space at monticello in deep southeast! it's my effort to diversify where my line is available, i think the aesthetic of monticello will really compliment my line, and both stars and monticello are open 7 days a week! 

so pick up some tacos from the BEST taco truck on the planet: taqueria antojitos yucatecos (you MUST get the tacos cochinita pibil to really change your life, and a salbute or panucho. you will want to kiss the cook, or me for telling you!) afterwards, grab a mimosa in monticello to sip on while you shop!

I can't lie, I am pretty damn charming. Just saying how charming you are is, well, charming. I also think I am easy on the eyes and if you like clean cut, preppy guys with style, wit and charisma you will like me. I am 28, educated, confident and good with an adjective. she also got a sampler set of 10 of my perfumes and has been conducting her own research to see which perfume brings about the best results. gotta love that

 

long lost love

i just found a bottle of my late elementary/junior high fragrance in a thrift store! l'effleur by coty. it's amazing how many memories can come flooding back with the slightest aroma

two other fragrances i used to wear, that were just brilliantly light, but totally distinct were discontinued by the body shop. lemon tea, and pink pepper. i bought them on ebay last year when i was studying perfume for my mfa

i neglected to buy a bottle of tea rose, by the perfumer's workshop, when i found it in an antique store, but i just ordered it on amazon! sometimes i really do love the internet culture, this was more of my junior high/early high school perfume of choice

having purchased these former loves, i do certainly notice a distinct difference between the alcohol-based scents, and the witch hazel i'm using. i've had a number of customers remark that they usually get a headache from perfume, or they have allergies, but they're able to wear the perfumes i'm creating, so that is great news!

so funny, i was in a small town and found a back-issue of oregon bride, and saw the names of a bunch of my friends in a shoot, and then there was my name too! (little feather hair pieces in both of these shots)

a few little dainties

aunt dollie's gluten-free, dairy-free persimmon puddin'

this was my christmas gift from my mom, learning how to make persimmon puddin' gluten/dairy free 

(since aunt dollie is in north carolina and couldn't teach me herself today)

 

aunt dollie's 

persimmon puddin' recipe

2 cups of sugar

1 cup rice flour

1/2 cup oat flour

1/2 cup tapioca flour

2 cups persimmon pulp (about 6 large persimmons worth, we put them through a ricer)

2 cups coconut milk

2 eggs

1 stick margarine

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp. cinnamon

1) cream margarine (softened) with sugar 

2) mix dry ingredients in separate bowl

3) add persimmon pulp to creamed sugar

4) add eggs

5) add milk and dry ingredients alternating slowly

pour into greased 9x13-inch pan

bake at 325 degrees, about an hour

make sure the puddin' doesn't over-cook, you just want it to be pulling away from the sides of the pan. ours cooked more like 55 minutes
